Hello Summer!

We are celebrating the beginning of summer vacation around here!

We have also spent the last week celebrating the end of three things that the boys have loved:  spring sports, first grade, and preschool.  The boys were very sad for these things to come to a close.  They have had great experiences with school this year!

The last day of flag football and soccer.  Noah's flag football team was defeated in the championship game of the Mighty Mite Division.  He was sad to lose that game, but he had such a fun season being quarterback.  Isaac loved soccer and he's looking forward to playing again in the fall.

He had such wonderful teachers this year and his school worked for weeks and weeks on this performance.  Isaac had told me in advance that his "arm controllers are broken and his volume is turned to zero" when he's on stage, so we told him that we'll have fun watching him on stage, even if his controllers are broken.  He's still the cutest little kid on the stage!  In the video below, he's standing along the front of the stage on the far right.

Noah had an awesome year in first grade.  He loved every minute of going to school.  He had a great teacher and great friends.  I would ask him what he did in school when I picked him up, and every day, his report was that he "played" and/or "had fun."  He would also say that "Today was the best day ever!"  Along with having so much fun in school, he learned an impressive amount of information and became passionate about being compassionate to others.

Noah's class wrote a book titled "The Important Book About Hope Academy" and they read it as part of their end-of-year performance.  Noah is at the end, and he stole the show!

So, hello summer!  We're glad you're here and we're looking forward to having fun!

Mr. Soccer

Isaac is playing soccer this spring, and he's loving every minute of it!

It's his first time being on a sports team.  When the season started, he was so excited to meet his coach and get his very own jersey.

His team is made up of 3 and 4-year-olds.  When they play a game, it's about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

It reminds me of kittens playing with a ball of string.

Isaac won the "Hustle Award" after one of his games.  He was so surprised!

You can see his hustle in these videos.  He's wearing gray #6.

I'm sure Isaac will want to continue playing soccer after this season, so we're looking forward to more fun on the fields!

Happy Birthday Noah!

We have a seven-year-old!

Noah has been looking forward to his birthday for so long, and he's had a lot of fun planning how he was going to spend his birthday.
Noah's last day of being six.  Look at that handsome boy!

But, sometimes our plans don't work out exactly the way we have dreamed about them.
Noah's seventh birthday turned out to be a sick day.  Poor guy!

Noah was a trooper, and he made the most of his day even though he was sick.  Grammy and Yaya were visiting from Michigan and it was so fun to have them here to celebrate!

He managed to show off his new toothless grin - Yaya even helped Noah lose a tooth that had been bothering him a few days ago!

Noah loved his University of Michigan football cake, even though he wasn't interested in trying a bite.

The gift of Legos turned out to be perfect for today.  Noah spent almost the whole day sitting on the floor assembling complex Lego kits and loving every minute of it!

Showing off some new Michigan basketball clothes

Legos and more Legos!

Even though it wasn't the day that any of us had planned, it was still a fun way to celebrate Noah!  Sometimes it's nice to slow down, cancel plans and just relax at home.  That's our new plan for the weekend, and it sounds pretty good to all of us.

Happy birthday to you, Noah!
You completely changed our lives seven years ago and we thank God that you have blessed us beyond anything we could ever imagine!
We love you!
