Tractor Rides

No visit to see Grammy and Yaya is complete until we've had countless rides in the John Deere wagon.  I remember riding in the wagon when I was Noah's age.  It's one of my favorite childhood memories!

Grammy went on a wagon ride too!

Noah got his turn to pretend to drive

And Isaac pretended to take the tractor on a spin too

Work Work Work

Noah and Isaac had so much fun helping around the house while we were in Michigan.

Noah pulled the wagon full of lunch supplies to the gazebo

then back to the house for another load

Isaac had a turn pulling, too, of course!

A heavy load going back to the house after dinner

Then, Isaac worked so hard to clean the pine straw off the tennis court

He's "pulling a load to the dump"

Ahh...work is over, time to relax!

Ahh...a snack never tasted so good!

Picking Blueberries

When we were in Michigan, we had such great fun picking blueberries!

It was our first time going to this blueberry farm, but we'll be sure to return every year

Blueberry bushes as far as the eye can see!

Isaac had his own method for picking... pull the berry off the bush...

and pop it in your mouth...no bucket required!

Back at home, we had at least 10 pounds of blueberries.  Taeka and Mom made at least 15 jars of  blueberry jam, and we ate the rest within a day.

We're still eating the blueberry jam today!  It's delicious!

Friends and Family

In August, we had so much fun reconnecting with my exchange sister Taeka when she came to visit from Japan!  Her family also came along, so we got to spend time with her sister Nami, her two nephews, Yoshi and Hitoshi, and her father Yukio.

We were only together for a few short days, but it was so fun!

The boys were shy with each other on the first day, but after that, they were like a barrel full of monkeys!

The international fun of climbing on a fence

The international fun of shucking corn on the cob

It was such a fun time of being together.

It was a great reminder that friends and family can be half-way around the Earth, but we're still connected!

Boys Will Be Boys

Boys will be boys, even if they don't speak the same language and live on the other side of the world!
Here's Noah and Isaac with their new friends Yoshi and Hitoshi

They're all so cute in their matching t-shirts and silliness

The international language of silly faces!

First Day of "Babygarden"

Isaac calls his preschool "Babygarden" since Noah is going to Kindergarten!

Isaac was so excited to finally go to school after taking Noah to school for two years.  He had a great day, and according to his report, he played with play-doh, trucks, cars, and the pretend microwave, had a snack of Cheese-Its, and did not go outside to play.  He was really hoping to try out the new preschool playground, so that was pretty disappointing to him.  Maybe they'll play outside the next day!

Isaac is going to preschool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Hooray for babygarden!
