The Salty Dog

The best way to start off a vacation at Hilton Head is a visit to the Salty Dog! Isaac was clearly happy to be there, and Noah topped off the evening with two of his favorite things - live guitar music and ice cream. Ahh...vacation! Here's a few more pictures.

Drummer Boy

Yes, the Electrasol cans are still around! Noah still plays these drums every day. He has his fancy electronic drum set, but he prefers to play "old school" most of the time - cans and chop sticks. He's a purist.

The clang of drums ring through the house throughout the day. Noah spends a lot of time figuring out different rhythms and trying to repeat rhythms in the songs he hears - mostly songs from church and from They Might Be Giants. It's interesting to listen to what he's doing, although I think I've also developed the ability to tune out the clanging in order to preserve my sanity. It's interesting that a lot of the time when Noah plays drums, Isaac likes to ring bells or bang his hand on something too.

Watch Out!

Warning: If you see this driver coming toward you, be careful! He seems to like to chew on the wheel more than pay attention to the road.

Who's in the bag?

"Who's minding the store?"

Matt was feeding Isaac his dinner when Noah somehow fell out of his chair. We were both helping Noah when we looked over at Isaac and saw this! Matt said, "Who's minding the store?" and it was so funny to see Isaac having such fun with his food while we weren't paying attention.

Bath Time

The boys still take baths together once in a while, but the other night Noah decided to squeeze into the baby tub with Isaac. Noah is pouring water on Isaac's chest in this picture.

Isaac's Obstacle Course

Isaac has created his own obstacle course! He loves to crawl under the exersaucer and the coffee table. Sometimes he just crawls through on his way to another destination, and sometimes he hangs out under there like it's his own little baby fort.

3 years and 3 months

This photo captures Noah at this very moment.  Growing so fast, so curious about the world around him, a proud big brother, a boy who loves God.

Isaac says hi!

Isaac loves to wave!  He waves "hi" and "bye," and if he gets excited enough, he'll wave with both hands.  We can carry on a whole conversation of waving and saying "ah!"  But, the best wave is when Daddy comes home from work and Isaac gets excited and waves "hi!"

Pool Time

I got this shot of the boys while we were waiting for Noah's swim lesson to start.  We take the stroller to the pool and wheel it right up to a table where we eventually eat lunch after the lesson.  Noah is giddy about his swim lessons and he has learned so much this summer.  We are so proud of him!

"Bubble Hair"

Noah had fun messing up his hair and looking in the mirror the other night.  He called this one his "bubble hair."
